D&J starts with a complete teardown and precision-machining process, then builds each package to address sealing, component retention, and long-term service concerns.

Head sealing

New head gaskets and refreshed cylinder heads form the foundation. Precision Plus adds ARP head studs and MLS gaskets for increased clamping strength.

Gear retention

Both packages use keyed crankshaft and camshaft retention. Precision Plus also adds a pinned oil pump.

Oil temperature control

Precision Plus uses an upgraded L5P oil cooler to help maintain lower engine-oil temperatures under service.

What trucks fit these D&J LML Duramax long blocks?

They are intended for 2011–2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks equipped with the 6.6L LML Duramax. Verify the VIN, engine code, and vehicle configuration with D&J before ordering.

What is the difference between Essentials and Precision Plus?

Essentials provides a precision-machined remanufactured foundation with new internal wear components, refreshed cylinder heads, keyed crankshaft and camshaft, and in-house testing. Precision Plus adds ARP head studs, Tier 1 MLS head gaskets, an upgraded L5P oil cooler, a pinned oil pump, and a more complete top-end and rotating-assembly package.

Are these new or remanufactured engines?

These are professionally remanufactured long blocks. Each engine is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, precision machined, and rebuilt to D&J Precision Machine specifications with the new components listed for its package.

How is each engine tested before shipment?

D&J uses an in-house RMC ETS engine testing system to verify cylinder compression and cooling-system integrity. Precision Plus testing also verifies oil-pump pressure and volume.

What warranty is included?

The launch product sheets specify 24 months or 100,000 miles of parts coverage and 24 months of labor coverage. Warranty registration, installation requirements, exclusions, and other written terms apply; review the current D&J warranty before purchase.

Is there a core charge?

Yes. Both launch packages list a $3,000 core charge. Core eligibility, return timing, freight, condition requirements, and credit are governed by D&J’s current core policy.

What parts must be transferred from my old engine?

That depends on the package. Essentials is intended for finish assembly and requires more component transfer. Precision Plus includes rocker assemblies, pushrods, valve bridges, rocker boxes, valve covers, intake manifold, harmonic balancer, flywheel, flex plate, washer, and related mounting hardware. Confirm the final bill of materials with D&J.

Can I use these engines for towing?

Both packages are designed for dependable everyday driving and towing applications. The best choice depends on vehicle configuration, duty cycle, supporting components, calibration, and installation quality.
